Essential like municipalities
Many municipalities offer recovery services for used oil and these encourage recycling. They may end up with containers contaminated with hazardous materials that they cannot recycle in their facilities. RPM eco meets the essential need to recycle contaminated plastic containers.
Many types of containers
Plastic containers can come from residential waste (e.g., windshield washer bottles or motor oil), local machinery maintenance activities or industrial activities in the area.
RPM eco focuses on collecting plastics contaminated with oily products, windshield washer fluid, diesel exhaust fluid, antifreeze, or HDPE type (plastic #2) pesticides. These containers can range from 1-litre bottles to 20-litre pails. We also recycle rolling bins and recycling bins. Recovering this material protects our natural resources.
Serving municipalities
We have service agreements with several municipalities across Canada. Our extensive geographic coverage and predictive collection system enable municipalities to dispose of contaminated plastics simply and safely.
The more this information is communicated to residents and businesses in your area, the better our collective recycling record.
Our agreements with municipalities represent 5% of our collection volumes. Contact our agents to learn about our integrated service for collecting contaminated containers.

We collect all formats of contaminated HDPE plastics, including oily products, windshield washer fluid, diesel exhaust fluid, antifreeze, or pesticides. We do not collect household or food containers.
RPM eco provides the required number of bins according to the volume generated. Bags for transporting containers are also provided free of charge and in sufficient quantities.
We can provide municipalities with certificates attesting to the volume collected annually to help measure their environmental best practices.

To find out the list of products covered by the regulations and for which collection is free, please refer to the provincial organization responsible for the program.
These programs are subject to change; you can consult our updated list periodically here.
